When planning your Sydney to Hobart removals, please remember to book your ferry journey to Tasmania well in advance to avoid delays. If you would prefer not to drive, then we can arrange for your vehicle to be taken to your new home via vehicle transport so you have one less thing to worry about.

There are a few options for the first part of your journey from Sydney to Hobart. There is the longer route along the Pacific highway which goes along the coast or the shorter route which is via the Hume Freeway and Hume Highway. The latter route will get you to Melbourne in approx. 11 hours driving time without taking into account rest stops. This is the most common route for Furniture removalists unless they have a pick up along the coastal route.

If you have chosen to take the shorter route you will need to follow the Hume Highway south through Goulburn, Yass, Coolac,Tarcutta and Holbrook. If you decide to make a stop in Goulburn, there is plenty for you to see and do. When you have finished in Goulburn you can carry on through the twin towns of Albury and Wodonga and then it’s only another 314kms till you reach Melbourne.

You will need to catch the ferry from Port Melbourne and it will take you across the Bass Strait to Devonport. Once you are in Devonport its only 297kms to your new home in Hobart.
